CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER
The Child Advocacy Center is built within LillyBrooke Family Justice Center (LBFJC). At the LBFJC, you’ll find a child-friendly, comfortable and warm setting for your child to be able to talk about what happened and receive a wide range of victim services for your child and your family.  As a system-based center, our staff serve as first responders in allegations of all types of child abuse. We provide hope and healing to neglected and abused children and their families through treatment, advocacy, and investigation services.

Please note that referrals to LBFJC can only come from law enforcement or child protection services. Parents, community members and professionals, however, can call LBFJC for support and questions if their child has been abused or if abuse is suspected.

MY CHILD IS HAVING A FORENSIC INTERVIEW... WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  • Do listen if your child wants to talk.
  • Do NOT question your child, rather give positive, encouraging words and thank them for talking to you.
  • Let your child know they will be coming to LBFJC to talk to someone who wants to help them.
  • Make sure your child gets a full nights rest and has eaten breakfast or lunch depending on your appointment time.
  • When scheduling your child's forensic interview, be mindful of the child's schedule and try not to disrupt important activities they participate in (sports, clubs, etc.).
  • If your child has any special needs, medical conditions, or anything that LBFJC staff should be aware of ahead of the scheduled forensic interview, please do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Please contact LBFJC if you have any questions or concerns.
